ABOUT CROSSROADS COMEDY
In 2002, Israeli-born Hollywood-comedian Avi Liberman was looking for an innovative way to help Israelis find things to laugh about during the second intifada. With that in mind, Avi invited several of his comedian friends to perform in Israel.
Soon Avi teamed up with his childhood friend, Caryn Green, the Director of the Crossroads Center in Jerusalem. The two conceived of a charity event that would attract top-level comedians to Israel and support a great cause. The idea was born and the Crossroads Comedy Tour has never looked back.
Since then, many well-recognized names from the North American comedy circuit have made their way to Israel’s stages. Today, the Tour makes appearances in locations all over the country including - Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Raanana, Beit Shemesh, Efrat and Chashmoanim - playing to always bigger and sold-out crowds.
The comics, often in Israel for the first time, integrate their unique observations on life in the Jewish State with the very same routines that have made them famous around the world.
Performers who have appeared on the Crossroads stage to date include stars of television and film and comics who have opened for legends of comedy like Jerry Seinfeld and the late Rodney Dangerfield.
Not only in Israel to perform, the comedians travel the Israeli landscape visiting the sites and gaining an appreciation for all that Israel has to offer- not to mention gaining a great source for some new material.
With its growing success the Tour has to gained international headlines.
The June 2008 Tour will take Crossroads Comedy to a whole new level as we welcome top-level talents Harland Williams, Dan Naturman and Lowell Sanders. Avi Liberman returns to Israel with a renewed commitment to making the Jewish State a choice destination for Hollywood comedians.
